I like to think of myself as somewhat of a relocation expert. After six moves in the last five years, I think I’ve earned the title.
And as a relocation expert, I’ve developed a checklist of things that must happen before a new house/apartment can be considered “home.”
Unpack all boxes.
Decide which kitchen drawer will house the silverware.
Hang all photos/art on the walls.
Find a favorite grocery store.
Meet at least one neighbor. Bonus points if they have kids.
Develop a new daily routine.
Memorize new address.
Actually write new address on forms that require a current address.
