Confession time. I’ve been incommunicado for an entire year now.
I know, right?
Listen. I know it’s been a rough year for you. I put you in a difficult position.
I just up and left you. No “see you later.” No timetable for a return.
Luckily for us, we have that special kind of friendship. Namely, the kind where I disappear for a year, randomly pop back into your life, and we don’t even skip a beat.
Because frankly, isn’t it better to just dive back into some awesome recipes?
So let’s catch up really quickly. I’ll give you the Reader’s Digest version of the last year.
We had a baby. He’s adorable. He’s also a whole year old now. When did that happen?
So now I have a toddler. Who is all over the place. And keeps me insanely busy every day.
The hubby just got back from an 8-month deployment in Afghanistan.
So right after we had a baby, I did the whole solo-parenting thing for 8 months. That was fun.
Timothy (that’s our son) and I did a LOT of traveling. So we’re pretty much over cars and planes right now.
I didn’t do a lot of baking. Obviously. Or blogging. Even more obviously. Look, if I had baked at my regular pace, I’d weigh about 500 pounds by now. I bake, my husband eats. No husband equals no baking. Just the way it had to be, friends. My waistline thanks you for your patience.
I discovered way too many new hobbies.
I redecorated our house.
What house, you ask? Oh, the house we moved into between having the baby and sending the husband to Afghanistan for 8 months. Did I forget to mention that?
I spent a lot of time running with my jogging stroller. So long, baby weight.
We went to the beach. A lot. Sand can amuse a baby for hours. True fact.
The hubby came home last week, and let me tell you, life is good. I’ve rediscovered free time. And going to the bathroom by myself.
So, that’s my year in a nutshell. Now. Let’s get back to the important things. I have a bunch of ahh-mazing recipes to share with you.
